Antibiotics: what can replace them?

Health Tips

Modern man is very dependent on medicines. On television every now and then there is a new advertisement about what pill you need to drink in order to defeat the disease. The main thing to remember is that not all over-the-counter pills are safe. Goodshapetips – about antibiotics: when and how to take and what to fear.

Antibiotics are substances of natural or semi-synthetic origin that can inhibit the growth and cause the death of bacteria and other microbes.

Very often in my practice, I encounter the beginning of unauthorized use of antibiotics by patients, at best – after consultation with pharmacy workers. In addition to the fact that antibiotics used in this way may not affect the course of the disease in any way, they can significantly harm the body.

There is an erroneous opinion: if you want to get better faster, drink an antibiotic! This is not true.

ARVI – namely, this disease we most often get sick – has a viral etiology, and antibiotics act only on bacteria. Thus, in this case, treatment should be carried out with antiviral agents.

Taking antibiotics will only reduce immunity, it can cause dysbacteriosis – because antibiotics kill not only pathogenic flora, but also our natural one – or provoke the growth of fungal flora, which comes to replace our natural one.

Antibiotics are sometimes prescribed for viral infections, but only in people at risk of developing complications in the presence of foci of chronic inflammation in the body: in chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, chronic pharyngitis, etc.

Again, only a doctor after an examination, and sometimes a laboratory and instrumental examination, can decide the question of the advisability and necessity of prescribing antimicrobial drugs in this particular case.

What diseases require antibiotic treatment?

There are a lot of them, I will bring most common:

  • acute pyelonephritis
  • acute bronchitis
  • angina or strep throat
  • purulent inflammation
  • meningitis
  • acute cholecystitis, pancreatitis
  • tuberculosis

Only a doctor can decide which antibiotic is needed. Incorrect selection of the drug or its incorrect use can only aggravate the course of the disease: the pathogenic flora will become more stable, the body will weaken, immunity will decrease and an additional infection may join the already parasitic one in the body.

Among other things, themselves antibiotics can cause pathological processes in the bodyespecially – with the wrong dosage and application.

it adverse effects such as:

It is necessary to be especially careful in terms of taking chemical and biologically active drugs, including antibiotics. pregnant women, nursing mothers and people planning to have children in the near future: in this case, no drug should be prescribed without the supervision of a gynecologist.

If, for any reason, antibiotics were taken during pregnancy (especially in the early stages), then this may be the basis for an abortion for medical reasons – antibiotics contribute to the development of deformities or death of the fetus.

If your doctor has prescribed antibiotics for you, then it must be short: apply at least 3 times a day and have a minimum degree of penetration through the placenta. One of these antibiotics is “Erythromycin”. But its use is highly undesirable.
