Cystitis, runny nose and other health problems that can be avoided in the autumn

Why do chronic diseases exacerbate in autumn?

If we are talking about exacerbation or recurrence of diseases, then we mean chronic non-communicable pathologies, which, as a rule, have a long course and develop due to a whole range of factors: genetic, physiological, environmental, and others.

Although a general healthy background for a person is important at any time of the year, in the autumn and spring seasons the body is especially vulnerable and subject to physiological stress. A sharp change in climatic conditions, lack of sunlight, unstable hormonal levels, lack of essential trace elements and vitamins exposes our immune system and triggers “sleeping” pathological processes.

Therefore, in the off-season, it is so important to follow measures that will help support the body. These include: the absence of bad habits, resistance to stressful situations, a stable emotional background, normalized work, adequate sleep and nutrition, outdoor activities, moderate physical activity.

As the most common diseases that most often worsen in the spring-autumn period, the following can be distinguished.

ENT diseases

Exacerbations of bronchopulmonary diseases, as well as ENT organs: bronchitis, rhinitis, sinusitis, sinusitis, otitis media, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, etc. are usually the result of hypothermia, sudden temperature changes. The clinical picture is characterized by lesions of the mucous organs, discharge from the nose, ears, bronchi, cough, fever.

ENT organs have a specific structure and are closely interconnected, so the disease of one organ will certainly affect the whole system. For example, a sore throat leads to a runny nose, and in a chronic form it can develop into inflammation of the maxillary sinuses, which, as a rule, is aggravated by high body temperature, severe headache, and purulent discharge from the nose. Therefore, treatment is always prescribed in a complex manner.

Skin problems

Chronic dermatological diseases (dermatitis, eczema, etc.) also tend to remind of themselves in the off-season. With the advent of autumn, a rash appears on the skin, often on the hands, which can subsequently merge into large foci, degenerate into formations with purulent contents. This process is accompanied by swelling, burning, the appearance of wounds and crusts, which in turn provokes erosive lesions on the skin. The cause of such exacerbations is often neurosis, stress, as well as diseases of the digestive tract: gastritis, duodenitis, colitis, intestinal dysbacteriosis, cholecystitis, etc. Skin reactions to low temperatures and weather conditions: cold, frost, wind, high humidity are also frequent companions of people prone to allergic manifestations. “Ambulance” in case of relapse can be provided by antihistamines – they can relieve acute symptoms, however, diagnosis and treatment should be approached comprehensively.
