Symptoms of hypertension

An increase in blood pressure is usually accompanied by headache, general weakness, flickering of “flies” before the eyes, decreased visual acuity, dizziness and insomnia. These signs are detected at the earliest stage of hypertension.

Later, with an increase in the severity of symptoms, other, instrumental and laboratory research methods are required. So the following changes are revealed: violation of the rhythm of heart contractions, the occurrence of murmurs in the heart, the boundaries of which are noticeably shifted to the left. Subsequently, the vessels of the brain begin to suffer, as a result of which the risk of a hypertensive crisis, the most formidable complication of hypertension, increases.

At the initial stages, the hypertensive crisis is relatively “harmless” in nature and manifests itself with all the symptoms listed above, accompanied by nausea, vomiting, sweating, as well as the appearance of red spots on the skin of the cheeks. Such attacks are relatively short and last from a few minutes to several hours.

A much more severe form of the crisis develops gradually, but its symptoms are incomparably more dangerous: patients may complain of reduced sensitivity in the limbs, pain in the heart, others notice the patient’s confusion and impaired speech.

Treatment of hypertension without drugs

Given that hypertension can be both an independent disease and a symptom that accompanies other, sometimes very severe pathologies, a visit to a doctor is a must!

However, along with the therapy regimen clearly prescribed by the doctor and the medications prescribed by him, it would be useful to know which folk and home remedies are useful to use in addition to the main treatment.

At the earliest, initial stage of hypertension, you can safely do without drugs and normalize a slightly elevated level of blood pressure with the help of medicinal herbs.

Valerian, hawthorn and motherwort – widely known soothing herbs, infusions of which are very effective for nervous excitability.

It is very useful to brew tea from the collection chamomile flowers, lemon balm, mint, St. John’s wort, as well as hop cones. If any of the listed components is not at hand, do not be discouraged: two or three components are enough to make pressure-reducing tea.

It is very important to remember that the well-known and popular vitamin C can significantly strengthen the weakened vascular wall and support the work of the heart muscle. Therefore, you should try to eat foods rich in this vitamin, for example, honey, chokeberry and wild roseand instead of the usual black tea, drink green.

Here are some more simple recipes that have a hypotensive effect:

  • In a glass of warm mineral water, stir a tablespoon of honey and the juice of half a lemon. Drink the entire solution at once, repeat the procedure once a day for a week.
  • Mix two cups of cranberries (can be frozen) with three tablespoons of powdered sugar and take the entire serving once a day one hour before meals for 7-10 days.

To prepare the following two infusions, a little more effort and time will be required:

  • From 3 kg of onions you need to squeeze the juice. Then mix it with 500 g of honey and 25 g of walnut partitions. The resulting mass pour 0.5 liters of vodka and let it brew for 10 days. Then take the infusion of 1 tablespoon 2-3 times a day.
  • Mix 4 cups of beet juice and honey, add 100 g of marsh cudweed herb and 0.5 l of vodka. After insisting in a dark, cool place for 10 days, squeeze out the finished solution and strain. Take an infusion of 1 tablespoon 30 minutes before meals.

Hypertension during pregnancy

During pregnancy, the cardiovascular system of a woman works in an increased load mode. Therefore, women in position can also increase blood pressure. There are those who had the disease even before pregnancy and for a long time “dozed” or proceeded unnoticed, and those women in whom pregnancy itself causes hypertension.

Let’s think about cranberries. It is necessary to take half a glass of berries, squeeze out the juice, pour the cake with a small amount of boiling water and leave for 5 minutes. Then strain the infusion, pour in 3 tablespoons of semolina and cook for 15 minutes. After that, add 4 tablespoons of sugar, wait until it boils and remove from heat. Cool the mixture and, whipping it with a blender, add the squeezed cranberry juice. The resulting “porridge” can be taken three times a day for 3-4 teaspoons.

And another recipe: grind into flour corn grits, take half a glass of this flour and dilute it in 200 ml of warm water. The solution should be infused for a day, and then it should be taken 2 tablespoons twice a day with meals.
