Heatstroke

This painful condition is caused by overheating and fluid loss. It occurs as a result of exposure to external thermal factors: the sun, sauna, long stay in a stuffy room… Its main symptoms are high fever, headache and dizziness, nausea, vomiting, weakness, lethargy. Sometimes – fainting, convulsions, respiratory disorders.

How to help?

  1. Move the victim to a shade or ventilated cool room.
  2. Lay him on his back, turn his head to the side and raise his legs.
  3. Remove “off-season” clothes (jacket, jumper).
  4. Apply a cold compress to the head, moisten the axillary and groin areas with cold water, wipe the body.
  5. Drink water.
  6. Call a doctor.
