Myositis is an inflammatory disease of the striated (skeletal, voluntary) muscles.
Myositis can be of an autoimmune nature, combined with damage to the skin, joints and have a progressive character.
Most often, myositis develops against the background of hypothermia, muscle strain, trauma, as a result of a cold, parasitic diseases. Sometimes the causes of myositis are intramuscular injections.
Manifestations of myositis
Myositis is manifested by pain in the area of the affected muscle, pulling pains during movement, palpation (palpation), stiffness of movements.
The most common cervical myositis, as the neck is most often subject to hypothermia. Cervical myositis is manifested by stiffness when turning the head, tilting it forward, pain when raising the arms up. Pain of a burning nature radiates to the back of the head, interscapular region. Muscles in the epicenter of pain are hot to the touch, painful, and may be swollen.
Myositis treatment
In the treatment of acute myositis, I widely use dry heat. It can be a woolen scarf tied around the affected area, a dry heating pad, a bag of heated sand, and so on.
With severe inflammation and pain syndrome, the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs is indicated. They relieve muscle swelling, improve microcirculation in it, and relieve pain.
In acute myositis, physiotherapy, massage and physiotherapy exercises have proven themselves well.

Alternative treatment of myositis
Attach boiled hot potatoes in their uniforms to the affected area, after covering the affected area with several layers of cloth. Bandage the potatoes tightly to the hearth, stretching it. After cooling, remove, rub the sore spot with vodka, wrap it with a woolen scarf and go to bed.
Dip cabbage leaves in a solution of baby soap, sprinkle with soda and bandage to the affected area in the form of a compress.
Butter and horsetail powder in a ratio of 4: 1 mix and rub into the affected area as an anesthetic ointment.
Mix equal parts turpentine, apple cider vinegar and egg yolk. Grind until a mushy mass is obtained. Apply to the skin as an anti-inflammatory and analgesic ointment.
