It is worth, for example, to take off your shoes at a party – and you can be sure that there will be no invitations to the dance. And when a husband, having come home from work, quietly leaves his socks in a secret place, it seems to you that you start rushing around the apartment in search of a dead mouse … The fact is that there are a huge number of sweat glands on the feet, and sweat combined with bacteria gives a smell far from French perfumes.

Whatever one may say, it is necessary to fight it. True, many sufferers have already despaired of fighting.

It is worth listening to the opinion of experts and following their not very complicated recommendations.

The best way to deodorize your feet is to wash them with soap. “It seems so easy,” says Glen Gastworth, executive director of the American Orthopedic Association. “But many people forget to bend down and rub the washcloth on their feet when they shower, leaving a lot of bacteria on them as a result.”

After washing your feet, dry them thoroughly, especially between the toes. “It’s in humid environments that odor-producing bacteria thrive,” says D. Hale, an orthopedist at the Washington Foot Center in Seattle.

A thick, scaly layer of dead cells can be a great breeding ground for odorous microbes. “It’s best to get rid of calluses and excess skin, especially on the heels,” says Dr. Brenner. When taking a bath, rub the soles with a pumice stone or a special grater.

Eat the fungus with special ointments (mycosolone, canesten, etc.). After treating the feet mechanically, lubricate them with an antifungal agent. The key is to keep your skin dry.

Feet smell least of all in socks made of special hygroscopic synthetics. If you are especially concerned about the smell, change them more often: two to three times a day.

Wear deodorant. “If you wear pantyhose, it is not always convenient to change them during the day. In this case, treat the sole with a roll-on antiperspirant with an active agent based on aluminum oxide,” Dr. Khapnin teaches. The salts of aluminum and zinc included in their composition narrow the excretory ducts of the sweat glands. However, such a morning procedure is useful for anyone, no matter what he has on his feet. The main thing is that the antiperspirant be with aluminum oxide, otherwise there is no point in this procedure. The composition of the deodorant can be consulted on the label.

Antiperspirant sprays, gels, lotions, and creams are best applied at night, before bed. Before going outside, powder the folds between your fingers with a special aromatic talcum powder. It absorbs moisture well, slightly dries the skin, protects it from scuffs, creating a feeling of comfort all day long. Whenever possible, go barefoot or in sandals with bare feet.

Change shoes. Try to wear each pair of shoes at least every other day so that they have time to air out. In the meantime, do not wear, put a fragrance inside, at least a juniper spacer.

Wash your shoes. When buying sneakers, check with the store if they can be washed. If so, throw it in the washing machine once a month. This will kill the bacteria that have settled inside.

Crush the crystals of boric acid and every morning generously sprinkle this powder on the soles of the feet and between the toes. Wash off with hot water every night. Change socks or stockings twice a day. The bad smell disappears after two weeks of treatment.

Take some oak bark and grind it into a powder, sprinkle generously on the inside of socks or stockings before putting them on. Do daily until sweating subsides.

For those who sweat a lot, it is recommended to drink a cup of sage tea per day (without sugar).

Wash feet with cold water several times during the day (recommended for people who have first hardening experience). Or daily at night do 10-minute baths with the addition of potassium permanganate (the water should be light pink).

Baths from a decoction of oak bark help (50-100 g per liter of water). Boil for half an hour on low heat. You can add a decoction of oat straw.

Put “soles” of birch bark into shoes.

Wash your feet at night with cool salt water.

Wash your feet with soda water in the morning and evening:

a teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of warm water. Rinse and wipe your feet, put a cotton swab soaked in soda solution between your toes. If it itchs and hurts, you have to be patient. In the morning, wash your feet with soda water, wipe and put on shoes. The smell will disappear very soon.

Wash feet well with warm water and soap, rinse with cold water. Straw of barley, oats, wheat or couch grass is intertwined between the fingers, as baskets are woven, put on clean socks. This is all done at night. In a week you will already forget about your shortcoming. Feet won’t sweat for years.

Twice a day, shift the legs and fingers with fresh birch leaves.
