Kate Middleton: ‘I wasn’t the happiest of pregnancies’
Prince William’s wife Kate Middleton suffered from morning sickness in each of her three pregnancies. The duchess was diagnosed with hyperemesis – a dangerous form of toxicosis, characteristic of only a few percent of pregnant women. Expectant mothers with a similar diagnosis experience daily acute attacks of nausea and vomiting, headaches. It is almost impossible to eat – there is dehydration dangerous for the body. Weakness, nausea and fainting were constant companions of Kate, so she did not appear in public in the first months of each pregnancy. The British sympathized with the wife of Prince William, by any means trying to convey words of support to her. Kate herself only once spoke very succinctly about her experience.
“I have always been very nauseous. So I was not the happiest of pregnant women. Many women are much worse, but it was definitely a challenge. Not only for me, but also for those close to me. I think that this is the whole point – pregnancy, the birth of a child and things like that affect everyone in the family, ”Middleton said, separately mentioning her husband, who sympathized with her, but could not help. At the same time, every time a few hours after giving birth, Kate posed for photographers and loyal subjects on the steps of the hospital, where their heirs appeared with William. Women around the world marveled at the Duchess’ stamina, who at that moment was able to smile and stand at ease on her heels.
Kim Kardashian: “Pregnancy is the worst experience of my life”
The mother of four children Kim Kardashian also suffered from toxicosis. Moreover, she does not hide the fact that she could hardly endure pregnancy. And she looked appropriate during these periods. “I will tell the truth: for me, pregnancy is the worst experience in my life. I don’t understand women who like this period. My mom and sister Courtney are just one of those. But I definitely don’t.”
Kanye West’s ex-wife stoically endured nausea, weakness and loss of strength for several months. Plus, she suffered from swelling and back pain. As Kim says, when everyone congratulates a familiar woman on her pregnancy, she sympathizes with her in her soul. And sincerely wishes for an easy pregnancy – as far as possible. Kim herself abandoned the idea of ever carrying a child on her own, because the younger children were born with the help of a surrogate mother.
Victoria Beckham: saved herself with toast with orange jam
Victoria Beckham recalls her fourth pregnancy with horror – during this period, the paparazzi made a lot of shots that she would prefer not to see. The designer in the early months of pregnancy, when she was overcome by toxicosis, lost even more weight, looked pale and exhausted. After a while, the singer and designer recalled with a smile that pregnancy brightened up her addiction to toast with orange jam, they say, after this dessert she felt better. Victoria practically did not pause in her work, despite the fact that she did not feel well. At the same time, the haters were indignant that even during her interesting position she did not part with high heels, which clearly did not alleviate the condition. But in Beckham’s case, image is everything.
Gwyneth Paltrow: “I felt like a beaten dog”
The Hollywood actress claims that toxicosis tormented her all nine months of both pregnancies. Of course, this is an exaggeration (toxicosis is observed only in the first months), but you can understand the actress. Negative memories have long been deposited in the memory. The Hollywood diva, an adherent of a healthy lifestyle, compared herself during these periods with a beaten dog, getting out of bed in the morning was torture for her.
“I can’t say that I was delighted with an interesting position. I felt like a beaten dog. It was an unpleasant period, ”the star recalled in an interview. Now the daughter of the actress is eighteen years old, and her son is sixteen.

Be sure to tell your gynecologist if you experience nausea and vomiting for the first time after the 9th week of pregnancy, if at the same time as nausea you have abdominal pain, abdominal tension, fever, headache, or if you yourself notice an enlarged thyroid gland (this will be expressed by swelling on the front of the neck).
Toxicosis occurs on an empty stomach, so try to still eat. No, this does not mean that you have to eat more. Try to split your usual amount of food (daily intake) by 5-6 times or snack on fruits, vegetables, nuts. You can keep a dry cookie or cracker on your bedside table so that when you wake up in the morning, eat a small amount of food and prevent illness.
Sometimes a diet of bananas, rice, applesauce, toast, and tea helps. These products contain practically no fat, and therefore, are easily digested.
Is it important to eat protein during pregnancy? Protein is really important for the body of a pregnant woman, but meat usually causes an increase in toxicosis. In this case, dairy products, yogurt, seeds and nuts can become protein sources.
Vitamin B6 may help, a safe and effective first line treatment when diet or lifestyle changes fail. In especially severe cases, the pregnant woman is hospitalized for intravenous therapy.
